Church History

Calvary Fellowship Church, Muscat is a local Church of Calvary Fellowship Church, Kerala, India. The Church through its various ministries provides the much needed spiritual nourishment for its believers amidst the hectic life schedule. This Church is the second largest Malayali Pentecostal Church in Muscat and only the sole church functioning under the sponsorship of Protestant Churches of Oman (P.C.O).

In 1980’s, Wattayah Prayer Group was formed by a group of believers from various Christian denominations who gathered together every Sunday for prayer, worship and fellowship.   This group had a strong conviction to obey the Word of God. After a couple of  years of Bible study, the  Holy Spirit opened their heart to receive the eternal truths of the Bible.  Five people who got baptized during this period consecrated themselves to worship the Lord in Truth and Spirit. With a passion, they delved into the deeper truths of God’s word. They are Br. C.K.Joseph, Br. Cherian Mathew, Br. A.P. Johnson, Br. K.A. Thomas and Br. Varghese K. Mathew.

In 1990, these brothers got acquainted with Pr. James Abraham when he visited Oman. This led to a series of prayers and discussion which culminated in the humble beginning of  our Church, Calvary Fellowship Church, Muscat.

The church has steadily grown since then and we have sought to stay true to our vision and Biblical values. Prayer, fellowship and His Grace can be attributed as the key factors for the growth of this Church. Today, 20 years later, growth at Calvary Fellowship Church continues. Although the ministry has constantly evolved over the decades, the purpose remains the same – to glorify God and develop followers of Jesus Christ who strive to make their lives “All About Him.

At present, about 200 persons are worshiping the Lord Almighty under the roof of Calvary Fellowship Church Muscat. We encourage you to come and be a part of this amazing Malayali pentecostal gathering!
